Choosing a Name For Your Baby

Apart from life itself, a name is perhaps the most precious thing you will give to your baby. Sociologists, baby experts and teachers agree that your child's name impacts on his or her personality, baby's ability to interact with his or her peers, and how he or she is seen by total strangers. Here are a few things you should take into account when choosing your baby's name.

Uniqueness: The current fashion is to give baby an unusual name or a traditional name with different spelling so that she stands out from the crowd. A friend has a daughter called Emily. At school there are 2 other Emilys in the class, so she is known as Emily T. It was a year before the little girl understood that her name was Emily and not Emily T! So it is easy to understand the temptation to go for a name that's different.

However, there can be problems too: the name will be misspelled and mispronounced. "My name is Elvira, but children and teachers would make it Elmira, Olivia, Alvera ...I soon learned to come to whatever sounded like my name", said Elvira Bates. "Only my mother and husband get it right!".

Sound and Compatibility: Someone suggested that, before you finally decide on a name, you go into the garden and shout the name five times to see how it sounds! A bit drastic maybe, but it is important to ensure the name sounds right.

General advice is to avoid a name that ends in a vowel if the last name starts with a vowel - the names tend to run together. Also, if the surname is long, choose a short first name, or vice versa.

And please avoid the puns. I once worked with a girl called Hazel Nutt! Fortunately she had a strong personality and coped with the laughter and jokes, but many in her position could have developed a complex about the name.

Once, when I was in hospital, there was a nurse with the name Rosie Bottom! (If you are reading this in the USA, Canada, or anywhere but in the UK, you may be wondering why that should be amusing - well, it translates as 'Rosie Butt'!) Of course the patients found the name amusing and I suppose anything that cheers up the patients has to be beneficial, but what were her parents thinking of when they named her?

Initials: Obvious really, except some people miss this one. Spell out the initials of the first, middle and last names to see if that makes a word.

Finally, consider whether the name suits a grown-up as well as a child.

Paying More Attention to Your Woman

Communication is such an important factor in all relationships, business and personal alike, that it should come as no surprise that we need to discuss it here as well. What is communication, after all? It is the two-way interaction that occurs, both verbally and non-verbally. What is said with actions is as important, if not more so, than what is said with words. But here we're going to focus our attention on the importance of verbal communication and what it will mean for your relationship. Keep in mind that when I talk about how things affect your relationship, I'm mainly concerned with your success in the realm of seduction.

Communication with words is something we all do on a daily basis. But, just like when you're asked to give an impromptu speech, being asked to communicate in a particular situation just makes many of you cringe, lock up, and find yourself at a loss for words. Why? Mainly because when you have to think about what to say, you suddenly become concerned about what you're saying. But if you just let it happen without any expectations, somehow everything works out a whole lot better.

That being said, think of your past relationships and where communication failed you. Was it something you said in a particular conversation that you came to regret later? Or was it something she said that you either treated as unimportant or simply didn't hear at all? Or could it have been a time when you should have said something to her, but didn't, and the results were equally regrettable? Surely all of these have happened to nearly everyone at one time or another. The trick is to not let these past failures define how you communicate now and in the future of your current relationship.

Talking is something we all think about when we hear the word 'communication'. But, unfortunately, that first thought is the wrong one if you're looking for a good relationship with potential for romance. Talking will get you nowhere, and worse, it may cause things to fall backward or even to fall apart. When you talk, you're expecting someone else to listen.

But what about the listener? When does she get the chance to be heard? That's why it's so much better to change your view from one of simply talking, to one where you see communication as the carrying on of a conversation.

Are You Ready to Play the Piano?

More musicians, vocalists and composers are proficient at the piano as opposed to other instruments in part because of its versatility in musical context and its function in musical notation. The piano is indeed a popular choice of instrument for enhancing one's musical knowledge and pursuing a musical career.

Pianos, however, are costly and unwieldy for most due to their heavy and large size, but there are alternatives like keyboards and electronic pianos.

If you already own a piano, it is better to use it, rather than let it grow old as an art object in your home. If you don't have a piano at home and you plan to buy one, it is advisable to study first which style of piano suits you best. Do a survey of different models to determine which sort of piano would fit your needs and your budget.

Those just starting out would probably have a hard time producing music with their pianos. Almost all people who play the piano had someone teach them the skill, although a few exceptional people may have learned through self study and continuous practice.

If you are not one of these exceptional people, getting a good piano teacher is crucial. It is an investment to pay for a piano but it is a greater venture to pay for a brilliant piano teacher who would guide you.

When you have a piano and a teacher, the next thing you would need is the desire to play. Don't be discouraged if you can't produce music yet-- be relaxed, lose the tension and go with the flow as your fingers explore your piano keyboard. Touching the keys gently will relax your fingers, and sitting with correct posture in front of your piano will help build your confidence as if you are a Mozart performing on stage.

Also, begin playing with a piece that you like, a song or a tune that you enjoy listening to, and that will add fun and enjoyment to your piano playing. Remember that music is in the ears of those who hear it.

Option Trading Strategies Can Make Investing Safer

All Investments have some sort of risk involved, however, some of the risks of option trading are unique. Option trading strategies may allow the investor some control over the risk. Options allow the investor a chance to limit losses, hedge a long position or receive a premium. Here is a example of a strategy.

XYZ has a current market price of $9.80 per share. Sell the option for $.55 per share, or $55.00 per contract. The strike price would be $10.00 per share and the time frame would be for 1 month. Lets say you have 1,000 shares of this stock. You sell these one month options, 1,000 shares or 10 contracts and the stock closes below $10 per share at expiration, you would keep the $550 and also retain the stock, a 5.6% return. If the stock exceeded the $10 per share, your stock options would be exercised and you would receive 10,000, ($10 times 1,000 shares). But, since you only paid $9.80 per share, you would pick up an additional $.20 per share or $200, increasing your profit to$750,a 7.7% return. Now can you imagine doing this 12 times a year? Well that is how many times you can do it with any given stock. This would give the investor between 73% to 92% returns or better, with a minimum risk. Remember you are talking about 10 wins out of 10 tries, with minimal risk. If you stick to this system, it is possible to turn $10,000 in to $155,000 to $216,000 in only 5 years. That would generate a 5 year compounded return of 2,060% or an average annual return of 414%. (2,060% divided by 5) You may ask how can this be? Well it is because the income is compounded, and each year the base amount is increased by the prior years gains. Actually, these monthly gains can be reinvested immediately, resulting in potential higher returns. Option trading strategies can make investing safer.

No strategy works all the time, market conditions change and that can make a strategy perform poorly. So it is always better to have more than one strategy to use. Then when market conditions change you can use the strategy that works the best for that change. Option trading is risky but if you only have one strategy and the market is not right. Just stay on the sidelines until it comes back in your favor. That's why paper trading is so important. You have to test your strategies so you know when it is the right time to get in and out of the market. Option trading strategies can make investing safer and provide a great way to enter the market with a small amount of money and because of the leverage options have you can get a very good return on your money. It just takes a little knowledge and some discipline to meet your goals of becoming profitable trader.
